On the eve of New Year and Christmas holidays, the flow of vehicles entering Ukraine is increasing significantly. The time of crossing the state border becomes longer. People who are waiting for the control procedures are sharing information on social networks about the 8-hours delays. In view of the situation with the New Year's flow of travelers, the State Border Guard Service is taking a set of measures necessary for the facilitation of the clearance procedures at the border crossing points (BCPs) at the border with EU countries.

In particular, at most BCPs the number of personnel involved in carrying out documents checks and inspection of vehicles  increased by 10 to 20%. Also, additional border guard details ensure that regime is maintained at and near BCPs.

To ensure the rhythm of the pass, the Ukrainian border guards hold regular meetings with the representatives of the counterparts control services.

In order to speed up the process, additional lanes are used on the inbound channels, which are normally used for the diplomatic and bus channels.

Separate BCPs have additional workplaces for document verification details, and in the most active areas, mobile border control complexes “POTOK-A” are ready for use.

As of this morning, according to the Polish border guards, the queues of passenger vehicles were formed almost at all automobile BCPs, but by lunchtime the number of cars in line for entry to Ukraine was jointly reduced significantly in all directions. At the moment, the border crossing points "Hrebenne - Rava Ruska", "Dolhobychuv - Uhryniv" and "Zosin - Ustiluh" are optimal for crossing the border.

The busiest destinations are Dorohusk - Yahodyn (about 250 passenger cars to enter Ukraine), Medika - Shehyni (about 260 cars) and Korchova - Krakowiec (350 cars).

It should be mentioned that there are no queues for passenger vehicles to EU countries. The State Border Guard Service predicts a significant increase in passenger traffic to the EU after the holidays.
