Within the framework of the joint special border operation ‘Zahid-2023’, servicemen of Chop border guard detachment detected four violators.

They intended to enter the EU from Ukraine illegally. The detentions also involved cadets of the Ministry of Internal Affairs who are currently reinforcing Ukraine's western borders.

The two foreigners were detained jointly with the detachment’s operatives one kilometer from the border with Slovakia on the outskirts of Uzhhorod. The men did not have any identification documents, but provided law enforcement officers with scanned copies of their Ugandan passports. During the interview, both admitted that the destination of their travel was Germany.

Another foreigner was stopped on his way to Hungary by border guards of the Solomonovo border guard division. The stranger was heading toward the border when he was detained by law enforcement officers. He also did not have any documents and said that he was a citizen of Nigeria.

Another offender, a resident of Transcarpathian region, was detected near the village of Onokivtsi in Uzhhorod district. The man admitted that he was walking to the border with Slovakia, guided by a navigator.

The foreigners and the Ukrainian were detained administratively and taken to the border guard units. Once the foreigners are identified and the circumstances of the offenses are clarified, all will be brought to administrative responsibility.
