BORDER GUARDS IMPROVED THEIR KNOWLEDGE OF CHECKING DOCUMENTS AND DETECTING FORGERIES IN THE LVIV REGION

It will be recalled that since 1991, passport control specialists have found more than 24.8 thousand forged passports.

Forgers of passport documents do not sleep. They are increasingly skillful in forging passports, ID-cards, etc., to sell their forgeries at considerable expense to those who are looking for a “better” life.

Therefore, border guards must constantly update their knowledge in this area to always be aware of “new” from the world of forged documents. An important factor in acquiring such knowledge is participation in joint trainings with international experts.

Recently an animation course on combating the use of forged documents in modern conditions was held on the basis of the Rava-Ruska Division with the involvement of experts from the Main Forensic Center of the State Border Guard Service together with representatives of the US Embassy and Lviv Detachment staff.

During the training, international experts shared their experience in protecting passport documents. The event was aimed at raising the professional level of border guards, improving their skills and knowledge of checking documents of persons crossing the state border. Also, during the training, participants had the opportunity to learn in practice how to recognize elements of protection and forgery of documents using the technical means of passport control.

All staff coped perfectly with practical training. At the end of the training, participants received the appropriate certificates.
