Border guards have received the radiation detection equipment from the Norway Government

In the framework of international technical assistance, servicemen of the Mukacheve Border Guard Detachment have received a special devices for search and detection radioactive materials and substances, protection, decontamination and dosimetry.

In the framework of international technical assistance, servicemen of the Mukacheve Border Guard Detachment have received a special devices for search and detection radioactive materials and substances, protection,  decontamination and dosimetry.

The representative of Nordisk Sikkerhet Company, direct manager Pavel Tishakov delivered the equipment, provided by the Government of Norway through the Norwegian Radiation Protection Authority (NRPA).

In general, under the project, servicemen received equipment valued at about 700 thousand EUR. These devices will improve the detection and confiscation  of CBRN materials. Border guards received the following equipment: mobile automated complex to detect radioactive and nuclear materials, mobile decontamination complex, personal protective equipment, radiation search dosimeters, personal gamma search-alarm detectors, spectrometers, etc.

During the ceremony the work of equipment was demonstrated to the audience, as well as it was emphasized on the importance of such projects to Ukraine.

It should be mentioned, this project is implemented within the  framework of bilateral Agreement between the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and the Government of Norway. This is the first project within cooperation with Norwegian donors and it will allow to continue further cooperation.
