In 2021 border guards of the Odessa detachment checked more than 130,000 used cars that had arrived from abroad.

As a result, last year border guards, together with their four-legged helpers, found 23 weapons, more than 2,500 rounds of ammunition and almost 1.5 kg of drugs in such cars.

It should be added that such findings in cars arriving from abroad do not in any way affect the “future fate” of the vehicle, but only help the future owner to get rid of unnecessary problems. After all, criminal liability for illegal handling of weapons and ammunition is envisaged in Ukraine.

And with the beginning of the new 2022, border guards continue to detect dangerous finds in such cars. In particular, last night at the Odessa Sea Trade Port checkpoint, border guards found such a “transfer” from abroad again.

This time the service dog found it while inspecting a FIAT car that had arrived from the United States in a container. As a result, a border guard found a shop equipped with 9 mm calibre ammunition, and several other bullets separately under the driver seat. A total of 39 rounds of ammunition of various calibres were seized from the car.

The detected ammunition was handed over to the customs representatives in accordance with the established procedure.
