Border guards found smuggled cigarettes in the freight train

Operational officers of the Chop border detachment discovered a batch of tax-free tobacco products in a train that was preparing to departure to Hungary.

In order to implement operational information, the border guards together with the representatives of the Office of the Director of Economic and Information Security of Ukrzaliznytsia carried out an inspection of the freight train «Vinnytsia - Epereshke (Hungary)» at the railway sorting station «Batevo».

As a result of the inspection, two packs of cigarettes without excise duty stamps were found in one of the cars with a cargo of oilcake.

They were packed in polyethylene membrane and attached to the frame of the car. In total, 480 packs of tobacco products were counted in the packages.

Currently, measures are being taken to identify the persons involved in the crime. The detected cigarettes were seized by representatives of the customs post «Batevo».
