A citizen of Ukraine tried to take 14 kg of precious stones in the car's hiding places to Poland.

This morning a Volkswagen car arrived at the Hrushiv BCP.

One of the departmental databases alerted regarding the car driven by a Ukrainian national born in 1965. Border guards immediately initiated an in-depth inspection of the car.

According to the results of the inspection, together with customs officials, border guards found about 14 kg of amber gemstones in the front wheel arches and in the side members of the Volkswagen bottom.

The inspection is still ongoing.
