Border guards of the Lutsk border guard detachment found contraband cigarettes in a freight car on the border with Poland.

During the inspection of one of the carriages of the train, which was on its way out of Ukraine through the Volodymyr-Volynskyi border crossing point, the inspection team found tobacco products.

8,000 packs of cigarettes of various brands were hidden inside wire bays. Dealers also took care of tracking the movement of goods, leaving among the packages a GPS-tracker, which probably was to serve as a kind of “helper” for a faster search for cigarettes among 55 carriages.

Measures are currently being taken to identify those involved in the illicit trafficking of tobacco products. The detected contraband goods were handed over to customs officials.
