The cigarettes were discovered by operatives of internal security of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

During the implementation of the operational information of the internal security units of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, law enforcement officers in the city of Bolhrad stopped a Ford Transit truck loaded with tobacco products.

In total, a joint interdepartmental group found 12,000 packs of cigarettes with excise stamps of the republic of belarus in cardboard boxes, the market value of which can be about 480,000 hryvnias. The driver did not have the accompanying documents for excise goods. Representatives of the Customs Office drew up a report on violation of customs rules based on Article 484 of the Customs Code of Ukraine. Tobacco products were seized pending a court decision.

The measures were carried out by the Department of Internal Security of the 17th Border Guard Detachment in cooperation with representatives of the Patrol Police of the city of Bolhrad, the Main Department of National Statehood Protection of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Odesa region, and the UBK and PMP of the Odesa Customs.
