Today at Boryspil airport border guards presented social anti-corruption flyers to citizens who cross the state border. The flyer was developed by the border guards in cooperation with the International Organization for Migration in Ukraine for distribution at border crossing points across the state border of Ukraine.

The event was organized with the assistance of the Head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine Victor Nazarenko, the deputy CEO of the Boryspil airport Anton Borysiuk, and the famous Ukrainian TV host and showman Aleksandr Pedan with the purpose of distribution of information on corruption counteraction at the border. Besides it helps to form a new image of a border guard, with inherent intolerance to illegal actions.

"Today corruption has become the most dangerous type of crime, therefore counteraction to this phenomenon is the number one priority for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine ", - stated the Head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine Victor Nazarenko.

He also added that with the purpose to implement the requirements of the President of Ukraine a substantial work concerning corruption counteraction is conducted among the personnel of the border guard agency which is directed to reforming and getting rid of the corrupt officials. In this regard activity of the internal security units is significantly enhanced.

In the course of 2015 units ensuring internal and personal security of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine carried out over 3 thousand inspections of the service duties of the personnel. According to the results about 4 thousand persons were brought to disciplinary and administrative responsibility, 137 border guards were criminally prosecuted, 46 servicemen were dismissed from the military service.

One more positive moment is that in comparison with last years the number of border guards who refused an illegal benefit increases. In general, 275 such facts took place in 2015.

The units ensuring internal and personal security of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine actively interact with law enforcement agencies of the adjacent countries and the international organizations, including the International Organization for Migration, NATO Office in Ukraine, OSCE.

In case of identification of signs of corruption people are brought to a criminal, administrative, civil and disciplinary responsibility in the order established by the law, irrespectively of their position and a rank.

Similar acts will be carried out at other border crossing points on all sectors of the state border, in order to counteract corruption together with citizens and prevent this shameful phenomenon as soon as possible.
