The criminals were found near the border with Romania by border guards of Mukachevo detachment.

During the implementation of operational information about possible illegal activities, the border patrol of the department «Dilove» together with the officers of the operational and investigative department noticed people moving towards the border with bags on their shoulders. Having realized that they were detected, the malefactors abandoned their burdens and scattered. The abandoned packages contained 3,370 packs of cigarettes without excise tax stamps.

The smuggled tobacco was taken by border guards to the border guard unit and will later be handed over to customs officials.
