The offenders were found by border guards of the Mukachevo border guard detachment. Smugglers tried to smuggle 17 boxes of cigarettes to Hungary.

Noticing the servicemen, the smugglers left their burdens and fled in the dark. During the search of the area, border guards detected packages containing 8,500 packs of cigarettes, a part of them were without excise stamps.

It should be noted that the movement of smuggling was not allowed during the implementation of information provided by the operatives of the border guard detachment about possible illegal activities. A joint border guard patrol of operatives, division of the Border Guard Service the Vylok and the C-type division detected the smugglers 250 meters away from the Botar water canal, through which the border passes.

Tobacco products have now been delivered to the border guard unit.

Border guards sent a report to the Transcarpathian Regional Prosecutor's Office and the Berehovo Division of the National Police on the fact that it contains signs of a crime.
