Border inspectors of the “Shehyni” border crossing point prevented an attempt at illegally transporting electrical cigarettes.

The "Mercedes" minibus driven by a 35-year-old compatriot of ours was heading towards Ukraine. Upon the initiative of the operational search unit of the Lviv Border Guard Detachment, the vehicle was directed for additional inspection.

During a joint inspection with customs officers, law enforcement officials discovered undeclared goods among the personal belongings of the passengers. In the minibus's cargo compartment, a resident of the Lviv region had concealed 75 boxes of electronic cigarettes.

In total, the individual was transporting 17,000 electronic cigarettes. At market prices, their approximate value is 4 million hryvnias.

In relation to this incident, customs officials prepared a protocol. The cigarettes were confiscated in accordance with established procedures.
