Another attempt at tobacco smuggling was stopped by border guards of the border guard detachment in Transcarpathia, near the Tisza River.

Checking the information provided by the operative officers of the detachment, the border patrol of the «Velykyi Bychkiv» section cought two packers trying to deliver packages of tobacco products to the neighboring country along the Tisza River. Noticing the border guards, they fled, dropping their burdens and ignoring legal requirements and warning shots.

In total, the offenders planned to transport 3,400 packs of cigarettes across the Ukrainian-Romanian border. The tobacco products were delivered to the border unit, which will later be handed over to customs officers.

It should be noted that two days ago, border guards of this section stopped an attempt to transport 7,000 packs of cigarettes to Romania.

In addition, smugglers tried to smuggle 5,500 packs of cigarettes to neighboring Hungary, also across this river. They were hindered by border guards of the «Vylok» border guard division of the Mukachevo border guard detachment.
