Border guards of Chop and Lviv BG detachments intercepted four foreigners who tried to find their way to the EU countries illegally. While detaining them, the border guards had to use weapons.

The alarm system informed law enforcement officers about the strangers' arrival near the village of Onokivtsi, Uzhhorod district, near the state border with Slovakia. Additional border guard details were immediately sent to the area of operation.

Subsequently, border guards found a foreigner in the forest who had overcome the barrier fence and was moving towards the border. Having detained the unknown person, law enforcement officers were combing the wood to check the area and, in a few minutes, found another foreigner. He did not obey the legal demand of the law enforcement officers to stop, so the latter the officers had to make a warning shot up.

The third of the offenders was detained by a response team, which was sent to help the patrol. He was stopped 400 meters from the state border.

All the detainees did not have any documents. They identified themselves as Indian citizens. After establishing the foreigners' identities, they will be charged under Part 2 of Article 204-1 of the Administrative Code. In addition, the actions of the foreigner, who did not obey the legal requirements of the detail, are considered to be an offense, the responsibility for which is provided for in articles 185-10 of the Administrative Code. The offenders' further destiny will be adjudged by the court.

In addition, at the site of Smilnytsia BG Division on the border with Poland, while patrolling the area, 7 meters from the border, the border guard detail found a foreigner who was also undocumented, but identified himself as a citizen of Afghanistan. The foreigner was detained for up to 3 days in order to clarify the circumstances of the offense; he has been held in division's special premises so far.

During the survey, all four “travelers” admitted their intention to illegally cross the border in order to get to the EU countries in search of better living conditions.
