During the russian occupation of part of Donetsk region in 2022, some local officials and functionaries voluntarily cooperated with the occupiers.

After the liberation of our territories by the Defence Forces, those who worked for the russian occupiers are trying to hide or pretend to be Ukrainian patriots.

However, the operational and search units of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine are constantly taking measures to identify and detain such as patriots. In particular, the other day, SBGS operatives, together with officers of the SSU in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, exposed the "head of the gasification section of Krasnyi Lyman town of the Donbas Concern. Krasnyi Lyman of the state concern ‘Donbashaz’ of the Donetsk People’s Republic". During the temporary occupation of the city, he voluntarily agreed to work for the aggressors. At first, the collaborator got a job in the Lyman division of the illegal Donbashaz, and later became its head. His main task was to provide gas to russian military units and administrative structures of the occupiers. The interests of the population were relegated to the background, although it was declared otherwise.

The offender's unit ensured the smooth operation of gas distribution networks. This work was inspected by representatives of the so-called ‘Yenakiievo Gas Supply and Gasification Department’ of the ‘State Concern ‘Donbashaz’.

During the de-occupation of Lyman, the offender did not have time to escape with the invaders.

Under the procedural supervision of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office, the man was given a notice of suspicion of collaboration, namely, conducting economic activity in cooperation with the aggressor state, illegal authorities established in the temporarily occupied territory, including the occupation administration of the aggressor state, i.e. committing a criminal offense. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
