Border guards of the Chernivtsi Detachment knew about the possible illegal activity in advance, thanks to local residents.

On one of the mountain trails, a patrol of the division "Krasnoilsk" found a group of unknown persons. The men were moving towards the state border. Having overcome the barrier fence, the violators were a few hundred meters away from the border with Romania. When border guards appeared, the men fled. Warning shots did not stop them.

At the scene of the offense, border guards found backpacks with tobacco products. Almost 20 boxes of contraband cigarettes were seized and handed over to the police. The estimated value of the cigarettes is about half a million hryvnias.
