Border guards of Odessa Sea Guard Detachment carried out exercises jointly with the units of the Navy of Ukraine to ensure the marine border protection in case of situation complication in the vicinity of Zmiinyiisland.

Manpower and resources of the Marine Guard Border Protection Detachment, ships, cutters and aircraft of the Navy of Ukrainetook part in the practical actions.

During the exercise, in the conditions of the increased combat readiness the units fulfilled coordination of actions at maneuvers, carried out an inspection of armaments, quality of the communication network, and also fulfilled troops landing. Except for the defense of Zmiinyi islandfrom the sea side, the units trained the elements of protection against air attacks and counteracted disembarkation of an enemy landing.

The result of the specified measuresaccomplishment confirmed high readiness of the border guards and unitsof the Navy of Ukraine for effective and coordinated actions at the sea.
