Another group of border guards has gained knowledge and skills during their training under the guidance of experienced instructors.

The courses are part of the Trident Defense Initiative (TDI), which is a volunteer initiative that was founded shortly after russia's attack on Ukraine. The team of instructors has joined the training of Ukrainian soldiers on their own initiative and shares the skills and knowledge they acquired while participating in combat operations.

The organization is headed by Daniel Ridley, a former private in one of the battalions of the Royal Regiment of Great Britain. At the time of the large-scale invasion, he was on leave and ended up in russian-occupied Bucha, where he provided assistance to locals and taught people first aid skills.

In general, classes at the training camp are held in several areas, such as tactical medicine, tactics of combat in the field and in populated areas.

During the classes for combat medics, the military are taught to save people in conditions close to combat, namely to provide assistance according to the international MARCH protocol.

At a training point located in the open, the groups practice patrolling the "area of responsibility", maneuverability and destruction of an enemy firing point.

Equally important is practicing the correct actions during battles in populated areas. In particular, the correct use of assault units, weapons and military equipment both during an assault and when breaking through a fortified enemy defense area, the practice of close combat, "clearing" a building as part of assault groups, etc.

Common to all areas of training are weapons handling, flanking maneuvers, movement under fire, actions when detecting enemy UAVs, during artillery fire, and communication within groups and units.

A separate part of the training, which instructors practice with the soldiers until they are automated, is the study of actions during the capture of prisoners of war, namely compliance with the Geneva Convention, rules of communication with prisoners, organization of personal security, etc.

As part of the TDI initiative, in addition to foreign instructors, Ukrainian instructors from the Victory Drones project also conduct classes. In particular, they share their own skills and abilities gained directly in the context of confronting russian aggression against Ukraine.

In total, since the beginning of this year, not only hundreds of border guards, but also many units of the Security and Defense Forces of Ukraine have been trained as part of the Trident Defense Initiative. And most importantly, based on the results of the knowledge and skills gained, the soldiers receive not only certificates of completion of advanced training courses in the relevant areas, but also the knowledge and skills they need to defeat the enemy.
