An international meeting of representatives of the border guard and customs services of Ukraine and the Republic of Poland took place today at the Yahodyn border crossing point.

An international meeting of representatives of the border guard and customs services of Ukraine and the Republic of Poland took place today at the Yahodyn border crossing point.

The parties discussed issues of reducing the accumulation and acceleration of trucks through the Yahodyn-Dorohusk border crossing point and cooperation between related services.

It should be noted that due to the growth of freight traffic, queues of trucks are formed near of the Yahodyn-Dorohusk border crossing point, both on the Ukrainian and Polish sides, especially at the end of the working week.

In order to increase the speed of crossing the Ukrainian-Polish border while increasing the flow of traffic, the parties agreed to take all possible measures, including ensuring the deployment of additional border patrols.

Also, representatives of the border guard and customs services of Ukraine and the Republic of Poland, serving as part of the changes at the Yahodyn-Dorohusk border crossing point, will meet daily and exchange information on quantitative indicators of border control operations.

It should be noted that in accordance with the requirements of the Memorandum on the introduction of a system of prior notification of emergencies on the Ukrainian-Polish border, in order to ensure the rhythm of border crossing points, services of both parties process 1200 cargo vehicles per day in both directions at the Yahodyn-Dorogusk border crossing point. In fact, about 1,300 trucks are allowed to cross the border every day.
