25-year-old border guard Vladyslav represents Ukraine at the Warrior Games international competition, which is being held in the USA this year.

Vladyslav Shatilo won "gold" and "bronze" in rowing at distances of 4 and 1 minutes.

Vladyslav is rowing on a simulator. He sank 1164 meters in 4 minutes. The athlete took the winning place in rowing by 1 minute.

"I improved my result by 16 meters in four minutes. It is not very much, but it is not very easy either. I didn't expect a gold medal, I planned to enter the top three," says the border guard.

In addition, Vladyslav won "gold" in powerlifting in the weight category up to 72 kg, overcoming the weight of 137 kilograms.

The participation of the national team of Ukraine and the national delegation of Ukraine in the international sports competitions of the Warrior Games in Orlando was made possible thanks to the joint interaction of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs with ministries and departments, as well as the unprecedented support of our international partners, in particular, Crown Agents Ukraine and the NATO Trust Fund for Medical Rehabilitation.

In 2019, while performing tasks as part of a reconnaissance group, our hero came across an insidious enemy mine. On that day, going to the task as a group, many mines were neutralized, but one of them struck and took away Vladyslav's leg.
