President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky inspects the performance of tasks by units of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine on the state border with russia during his working trip to Sumy region.

The head of state learnt about the organization of border guard service and their control at checkpoints firsthand.

Volodymyr Zelenskyi was reported on how the defense and protection of the Ukrainian border are organized and ensured within the area of responsibility of Sumy Border Guard Detachment.

It was noted that russia has intensified shelling of the Ukrainian border from its territory, with the Bilopillya united territorial community being the most affected lately.

Border guards informed the President about a complex of measures that are being taken in close cooperation with other branches of the Defense Forces of Ukraine to ensure all possible means to counter the enemy.

The President of Ukraine acknowledged the effectiveness of the actions of the State Border Guard Service aimed at protecting the state border in the Sumy region.

Also, during the events commemorating the anniversary of the liberation of the town of Trostianets from russian occupiers, the President awarded two border guards with the medal For Military Service to Ukraine.
