Border guard cybersecurity experts made it to the top three

The Kyiv International Cybersecurity Forum 2024, "Resilience during Cyber Warfare," recently convened in the capital. Impressively, among the 21 competing teams, border guards secured a spot in the top three.

The event featured a gripping two-day Capture the Flag cybersecurity competition, drawing 21 teams and a total of 121 specialists from both public and private sectors. Each team faced the challenge of completing six intricate tasks, designed to mimic real-world attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure. Following rigorous competition, three victors emerged. Border guards, represented by team "dotXYZ," clinched third place. The top honors went to the Gos team, securing first place, while the Pspatron team claimed second.

In addition to the thrilling competition, the forum offered a rich intellectual feast, hosting 10 panel discussions and over 35 expert presentations. Topics spanned a broad spectrum, delving into the pivotal role of cybersecurity in modern warfare, Ukraine's unique experiences in cyber warfare, the intersection of cyber warfare and international law, cyber diplomacy, strategies for bolstering national cybersecurity resilience through education, safeguarding messenger platforms, harnessing cyber threat intelligence, ensuring cybersecurity at regional levels, and much more.
