Officers of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine, the National Police of Ukraine and the Customs found two containers with cocaine in the frame of work of port control team.

«Black»  cocaine was delivered to the port of Odesa in containers with the cargo «Slags», which arrived in Ukraine from Latin America before the full-scale invasion of russia.

For the first time in Ukraine, drug lords resorted to a more cunning scheme of smuggling high quality drugs. In order to move hiddenly the «elite goods» across the border, the dealers disguised it as industrial slag using a modern complex chemical process. After delivery of the cargo to the destination, the cocaine had to be separated by chemical purification.

Several bags of powdered bulk substance were seized from the containers. According to the results of the examination, almost 4 kg of pure cocaine was found in the selected samples of slag, the price of which on the «black market» can reach more than UAH 15 million.

Law enforcement officers found out that a part of the drugs was to be sold in Ukraine, and the other part to be moved in small batches to the European Union.

Investigative actions aimed at establishing the full range of involved persons are ongoing, and the long-term examination of the rest of the seized cargo is carried out.

The operation was conducted by operatives of the Odesa Border Guard Detachment jointly with the SSU, National Police, Odesa Customs under the supervision of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office.
