Border guards use the latest technical devices to protect the state border in remote and inaccessible areas.

Wireless surveillance systems - photo traps – enable to detect potential violators of the state border more effectively. These systems are universal, efficient and fairly easy to use.

For example, the border area in the Polissia Region, which is guarded by border guards of the Zhytomyr Border Guard Detachment, has wooded, swampy and inaccessible terrain. That's why a photo trap is an indispensable helper for the border guard patrols. Day and night at any time of the year, it captures movement, captures the object and transmits information to the unit. Owing to a photo trap, border guards recently detected a man in Zhytomyr Region who was trying to reach Belarus illegally. The violator was recorded by one of the cameras of the system and the man was detained within a few minutes. But photo traps work not only on violators. Moose, deer, foxes and electric trains are sometimes “photographed” at the border area (see photo☺).
