Before the full-scale invasion, "Hudzon" served at the National Academy of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine named after Bohdan Khmelnytskyi. From the first days of the russian federation's full-scale invasion, he headed to the active combat zone to repel the enemy's armed aggression. Having previously served as part of the Ukrainian peacekeeping contingent in Iraq, he was confident that his experience would be valuable.

"Hudzon" underwent training as an anti-aircraft missile system operator and quickly mastered the Stinger MANPADS (Man-portable air-defense systems) – it was with these that he "hunted down" two enemy SU-25 aircraft. This occurred while his unit held defensive positions in the Bahmut sector. The enemy attacked from different directions, exploiting the terrain to their advantage. "Hudzon" made numerous attempts to shoot down the enemy aircraft: changing positions, lying in wait for hours under camouflage, even trying to do it from a construction crane. "The enemy calculated both their capabilities and ours. Their aircraft behaved very cautiously. And our positions didn't always allow us to get closer. Many missiles were fired at heat traps," recalls "Hudzon." That day, the distance was also not in favor of the Ukrainian military, but there was no other position. Everything happened very quickly. He was with his partner at the position. They noticed a fighter jet that fired a missile and tried to quickly turn back. "Hudzon" aimed, fired, and received confirmation minutes later that the enemy fighter jet had been shot down. "At first, I couldn't even believe it had worked... After so many attempts, but at the same time, I understood that since it's possible, we must continue!" recalls Hudson.

The second aircraft shot down by "Hudson" was again an SU-25. This time, the aircraft suddenly emerged from behind clouds, not from the expected direction, so they had to react quickly. "Hudzon" quickly oriented himself, launched a missile. The fighter jet launched missiles and began to turn, deploying thermal decoys, but it didn't save him. After the aircraft disappeared from sight, "Hudzon" heard a loud noise. In a short time, Ukrainian defenders received confirmation that the SU-25 had been shot down and had "landed unfavorably."

"At war, everyone is scared, but fear won't save you. You have to act!" says "Hudzon."

The soldier firmly believes in Victory: "God willing, we will win and rebuild our country, because we have everything for it: opportunities, resources, and exceptional people."

The brave border guard has received numerous awards, including the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi 3rd Class, medals "For the Defender of Ukraine" and "For Courage in the Protection of the State Border of Ukraine."

"But," as "Hudzon" himself says, "the best reward for me is the respect of my brothers-in-arms, to remain a worthy warrior in their eyes."
