Border guards of the Chernivtsi border guard detachment together with customs officers found three vehicles with tobacco goods at the Porubne border crossing point.

In all three cases, tobacco products were hidden in Mercedes minibuses, which had to be partially dismantled to remove hidden goods. The drivers of the buses with hiding places were citizens of Ukraine. In particular, 565 packs of cigarettes were found in a minibus driven by a 27-year-old resident of Chernivtsi region to Romania. Some of the packs of tobacco products were in the cavity of the front rack, the rest - in the cavity of the door.

A 35-year-old resident of Chernivtsi tried to smuggle 420 packs of cigarettes to Romania, which he hid behind the decorative trim of the cabin wall. Besides these cigarettes, customs officers temporarily confiscated his minibus of (year of manufacture - 2003) valued at UAH 300,000.

A 58-year-old resident of Chernivtsi region also tried to smuggle cigarettes out. The inspection group found 189 packs of cigarettes in the cavity of the roof hatches and in the tank for the washer. But retribution for this violator can be the most expensive, because he hid the goods in a vehicle of 2016 manufacture year, which was also seized until the court decision and estimated at half a million hryvnias.
