Border guards at the Odesa International Airport, realizing the available information, blocked an attempt to illegally import more than 200 modern Apple mobile devices to Ukraine.

Our compatriot, who was returning home from the UAE, secretly tried to smuggle in the branded phones “iPhone 13 Pro Max”.

To pass the control, the man chose the “green” corridor and deliberately wanted to avoid customs duties for the transportation of valuables. In addition, the “carrier” behaved quite aggressively, unwilling to comply with the lawful requirements of law enforcement officers to inspect the items, and tried his best to leave the BCP as soon as possible. However, he did not succeed.

During the inspection of four suitcases, law enforcement officers detected 204 mobile devices “iPhone 13 Pro Max” in branded packages. Phones were confiscated. Their total cost is over 7 million UAH. In addition, the violator was brought to administrative responsibility under Article 185-10 “Malicious disobedience to a lawful order or demand of a serviceman or employee of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine or a member of a public formation for the protection of public order and state border.” Operations to expose the offense were carried out by operatives of the Odesa Border Guard Detachment in cooperation with customs, SSU and SBI officers.

It should be noted that yesterday border guards detected about eight dozen more Apple gadgets. Ukrainian citizens tried to smuggle them through the Tysa BCP on the border with Hungary and through the capital's Kyiv airport.
