In Bukovyna region, border guards detained an unmanned aerial vehicle, with the help of which criminals tried to organize a channel for the delivery of tobacco contraband to Romania.

So, that night, servicemen of the Krasnoilsk border guard division of Chernivtsi border guard detachment heard the noise of the engines of an unknown aircraft at the border. A response group of border guards arrived to check the area. The law enforcement officers determined the direction of aircraft movement and with the help of technical means carried out its forced landing.

The aircraft turned out to be a home-made quadcopter, which was equipped to move small batches of tobacco products.

Currently, all the circumstances of the offense are being substantiated and the search for the persons involved in the illegal activity is ongoing.

The aircraft, together with a notification about the detection of a criminal offense signs, was handed over to the National Police.
