“Within the framework of the intergovernmental agreement with the French Republic, active cooperation is underway to strengthen maritime security and protect Ukrainian border. Thanks to this project, Ukrainian border guards will receive modern cutters, and Ukrainian industry will receive technologies for their further production”, he said.

Arsen Avakov noted that localization of 25 percent of production will be carried out at the Nibulon shipbuilding plant in Mykolaiv. Thus, Ukrainian shipbuilders will gain experience of international cooperation and access to modern international technologies for the production of high-speed vessels.

Also at the All-Ukrainian Forum, the Minister of Internal Affairs stressed the deployment of aircraft maintenance infrastructure. “In the city of Nizhyn of the Chernihiv region the service aircraft maintenance infrastructure of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is being developed. Helicopters of the State Emergency Service, the State Border Guard Service, the National Guard and the police will be serviced there. In the future, this site will become a helicopter maintenance centre for our European partners as well,” he said.

Arsen Avakov noted that the plans for this year are to receive another 28 helicopters for the needs of all services of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. So far, the National Police has received the first 2 modern H145 Airbus Helicopters, 2 H125 helicopters have been received by the State Border Guard Service, 8 aircraft have already been put into operation in the State Emergency Service and the National Guard.
