Border guards of the Podilskyi Border Guard Detachment together with officials of the Security service of Ukraine discovered a pipeline laid underground at a depth of about 2 m at the central segment of the Moldova-Ukraine border.

A plastic hose 32 mm in diameter was installed to smuggle alcohol across the state border of Ukraine last month. However, the traffickers did not get a chance to use it.

To dismantle the “Alcohol Pipeline”, the border guards had to bring in special equipment.

In general, the law enforcement officers managed to retrieve about 400 meters of hose rolled out from the household of a 45-year-old border resident towards the state border line.

Currently, the measures are being taken to identify a number of persons involved in alleged unlawful activities.
