The head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak met with the Head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine Serhiy Deinek and the head of the 15th mobile border detachment of the State Security Service "Steel Border" Colonel Valery Padytel.

Andriy Yermak congratulated Serhii Deinek and Valery Paditel on the recent anniversary of the establishment of the Steel Border offensive guard brigade.

During the meeting, the issues of further technical equipment of the brigade were discussed in order to strengthen it and increase the efficiency of task performance.

"For almost 10 years of war, border guards have demonstrated that they are a model of bravery and resilience. It was the soldiers of the State Border Guard Service who were among the first to fight during the full-scale invasion, heroically holding back the significantly superior forces of the enemy. For the President and our team, it is very important that each military brigade has the maximum support for the effective performance of the assigned tasks, including the border guard brigade. Therefore, today I want to take a more detailed look at the needs of the soldiers of the Steel Border brigade, which I take care of, in order to move to their provision as soon as possible," said the head of the Office of the Head of State.

Serhiy Deyneko called the "Steel Border" brigade one of the most successful, because in nine months since the beginning of combat tasks, its units have not lost a single position, the fighters work harmoniously, have a high morale and are motivated to defend the country and fight against the invaders.

"All this is due to the fact that there is a system of working with people and respecting them. We see every soldier, sergeant, officer," said the head of the DPSU.

The commander of the "Steel Border" Valery Paditel informed Andriy Yermak that the fighters of the brigade are currently performing the task of defending both the state border and the contact line. According to him, the soldiers of the brigade are highly motivated.

Separately, Serhii Deineko and Valery Paditel thanked Andriy Yermak and all the participants involved by the state for their assistance in the return of the border soldiers from captivity, in particular the captain of the 1st rank, the commander of the Mariupol Marine Guard unit of the State Border Service, Petro Melnyk. The soldiers of this unit together with the border guards of the Donetsk detachment, which at that time was commanded by Valery Paditel, and other Ukrainian defenders defended Mariupol. During the previous exchange, 26 DPSU soldiers were released from Russian captivity.
