The II International Scientific and Practical Conference "Educational and Scientific Support of the Components of the Security and Defense Sector of Ukraine" took place at the National Academy of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

The event was organized jointly with the representatives of the National Academy of the National Guard of Ukraine, Ivan Cherniakhovskyi National Defense University of Ukraine, National Academy of Security Service of Ukraine, Hetman Petro Sahaidachnyi National Ground Forces Academy, Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs, Odessa Military Academy) and with the support of the international organization UN Women in Ukraine.

The work of the conference consisted of two parts - a plenary session and five sectional meetings in the following areas:

ensuring international, national and border security, state and military management of the components of the security and defense sector of Ukraine: current problems and ways for their solution;

legal aspects of national, security and defense capabilities;

psychological and pedagogical, moral and psychological problems of professional training of the security and defense sector personnel;

problems of modern philology, linguistics and teaching foreign languages ​​for professional communication;

armaments, military equipment and comprehensive support of operational and service (combat) actions of the security and defense sector.

The scientific meeting was also attended by representatives of international organizations and foreign educational institutions - the European Border and Coast Guard Agency FRONTEX, the European Union Advisory Mission in Ukraine, the US Embassy in Ukraine, as well as scientists from Slovakia, Lithuania and Georgia. In total, more than 170 people took part in the online conference.

At the beginning of the plenary session of the conference, Rector of the National Academy of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine Major-General Oleksandr Lutskyi expressed his sincere gratitude to all conference participants and noted that only a scientific approach allows to look beyond the horizons of practical area, outline the range of problems and identify the ways of their solving and further directions of development.

The participants paid special attention to reports on the following topics: “NATO Strategic Communications and Ukraine's Defense Reform", "Support to the EU Advisory Mission in Ukraine in Combating Cross-Border Crime on the Ukrainian-Moldovan Border", "Features of the Integrated Information Security System” and “Transformation of Military Education in the context of the NATO standards implementation”. Also, during the conference, foreign experts shared the experience of their countries.

The new ideas voiced during the International Scientific and Practical Conference will contribute to the comprehensive development of education and science in higher educational institutions in the security and defense sector. As a result of the conference, a collection of abstracts of scientific reports will be prepared and posted in electronic form on the official website of the National Academy.
