A working meeting of Ukrainian and Polish officials to improve the work of the Krakivets-Korchova BCP took place on the Ukrainian-Polish border.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the possibilities of improving and unloading border traffic in this direction.

In particular, an additional terminal of the Krakivets BCP will be opened in the near future. According to Serhii Veretilnyk, head of the Krakivets border guard inspector’s section, the work on the highway in front of the border crossing point is currently underway to set up a temporary passenger terminal. They began in accordance with the agreements between the Ukrainian and Polish parties on the separation of passenger and freight traffic in order to ensure the rhythm of throughput operations in conditions of significant confluence on the departure from Ukraine to Poland.

In particular, infrastructure facilities are created here that will increase the number of lanes for trucks entering Poland / leaving Ukraine to eleven, and container modules are set up to create a temporary check point with additional work places.

Such measures should allow unloading this direction and doubling the capacity of the BCP.

Now the boundaries of the Krakivets BCP are enlarged and expanded so that it is possible to react quickly to the changes in the situations that are happening now. This BCP will be capable of processing more vehicles and cargos both for leaving Ukraine and for entering, added Lieutenant Colonel Ivan Baran, head of the border control department of the Lviv Border Guard Detachment.

In addition, to speed up the inspection on both sides of the border, the parties discussed issues of joint border and customs control, exchange of information and more.
