Border guards of Lviv BG Detachment found a hiding place of illegally moved cigarettes.

A Mercedes truck driven by a 54-year-old citizen of the Republic of Poland arrived at the Shehyni border crossing point yesterday morning. The driver confidently wanted to go through all the formalities as soon as possible and head for Poland, but the operational officers of Lviv Border Guard Detachment had information about the possible illegal movement of goods in this truck.

During an in-depth inspection of the vehicle, border guards together with operational officers of Lviv Detachment and customs officers found hidden tobacco products. The cigarettes were hidden in the hollow sides of the trailer.

From the hiding places, border guards took out 1,536 packs of cigarettes of various brands, without excise duty stamps of Ukraine. Cigarettes were seized in accordance with the established procedure.
