The 42-year-old resident of Prykarpattia was not allowed to cross the border by border guards of the Chernivtsi detachment at the Porubne border crossing point.

The man claimed that he was on his way to Spain to care for his wife, who was terminally ill and unable to move on her own. For the passport control, the Ukrainian provided a medical opinion of the Medical Advisory Board about the need for constant third party care for his wife, a conclusion about her body disfunction, and a certificate from the Consulate General of Ukraine in Barcelona about the temporary consular registration of his wife.

However, on conducting an in-depth inspection of the documents with the help of special devices, the border guards established that they were completely forged. After processing the relevant documents, the offender was handed over to the National Police.
