A new helicopter of the French company AIRBUS H125 has arrived in Sumy Region for permanent base in order to ensure border protection.

This is one of the helicopters recently received by the Kharkiv Separate Aviation Squadron of the State Border Guard Service. The characteristics of the helicopter and additionally installed powerful optoelectronic monitoring equipment (Flir Ultra Force 350 HD) will strengthen the protection of the northeastern part of the Ukrainian border.

At present, all the necessary infrastructure has been created for the effective use of the helicopter in border protection. In particular, take-off / landing sites were built, a hangar, a refueling vehicle was obtained. In addition, the necessary conditions for living and performing the duties of flight and technical staff have been created.

It should be noted that the registration and certification measures of three more Airbus H125 helicopters, which arrived for the State Border Guard Service from France at the end of last year, are currently being completed. These helicopters are to become part of the Odesa Separate Aviation Squadron of the State Border Guard Service in the near future.

It will be recalled that within the framework of the intergovernmental agreement with the French Republic and the implementation of the investment project of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine to create a Unified System of Aviation Security and Civil Defense, Ukraine will be replenished with 55 new models of aircraft. From them the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine will receive 24 new helicopters. Currently, the Border Guard Service of Ukraine already has 7 H125 helicopters of the French company Airbus Helicopter.

The first helicopters under the Ukrainian-French contract were adopted by the State Border Guard Service in January 2020. Part of the flight and technical staff of the border air squadrons learned to operate and service H125 in France - at the AIRBUS Training Center. Now the State Border Guard Service has its own certified specialists, including instructors.
