A MINIVAN WITH FALSE PASSPORTS AND SPECIAL EQUIPMENT WAS SENT TO THE STATE BORDER GUARD SERVICE BODIES TO TRAIN INSPECTORS

For the first time, a mobile crime lab was sent to the State Border Guard Service bodies to train inspectors in the detection of passport forgeries.

Experts of the Main Forensic Centre conducted exit training at the area of Kherson Border Guard Detachment. At the administrative line with temporarily occupied Crimea, border control inspectors were provided with practical assistance in detecting forged passport documents using a mobile forensic laboratory.

The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Ukraine provided this unique laboratory to Ukrainian border guards. Mobile forensic laboratory - is a complex of equipment based on the Volkswagen Crafter 35. Technical gem of the lab are document inspection centre Regula 4305 and specialized lens Regula 1025.01 which allow to recognize the subtle features of a forgery. Also, arsenal of the laboratory includes - inverter, modern camera, powerful laptop, reserve accumulators, diesel generator, radio station. Also, this complex is equipped with a mobile video surveillance system that can recognize faces in real time.

Training in the Kherson Border Guard Detachment took place with the application of innovative teaching methodology and the use of special didactic (illustrative) material. Also, the violators helped Ukrainian border guards because during the training were studied real life cases - documents seized at the Ukrainian border with various features of falsification.

Taking into account the positive feedback received from the participants of the trainings, the specialists of the Main Forensic Centre will continue to carry out the set of measures on a permanent basis soon.
