In Kyiv border guards met with Ena Dion, Senior Program Officer at the US Institute of Peace.

Ena Dion leads a group focused on the key issues of management and reforms of the security sector that Ukraine needs to solve to strengthen peace and stability immediately after the war.

The goal of the U.S. Institute of Peace is to develop policy recommendations that can have an impact on security and justice programs and projects that U.S. government prioritizes for funding in Ukraine.

The representative of the U.S. Institute of Peace was familiarized with the structure of the State Border Guard Service, its main tasks and functions and participation of border guard officers in combat operations as part of the Defense Forces.

The parties also discussed the state of cooperation between the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and U.S. law enforcement agencies and the implementation of international technical assistance projects. Ena Dion emphasized her support for Ukraine and assured that U.S. Institute of Peace would consider finding ways to help stabilize and restore Ukraine.
