A local resident made the border guards of the Chop BG detachment run after him.

A man walking on the outskirts of the village of Zavosyno in Transkarpathia was stopped 300 meters from the state border by a border patrol to check his documents. The traveler, a 46-year-old resident of the village of Maly Berezny, handed over his passport to servicemen of the State Border Guard Service and rushed away. The fugitive was soon detained. The runner explained his action in an original way – he wanted to check the physical condition of border guards. However, the Transcarpathian will have to pay for this “entertainment”. Documents of administrative proceedings were issued to the man according to Article 185-10 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offences for deliberate defiance to border guards. The sanction of the article provides for the imposition of a fine of up to one hundred non-taxable minimum incomes or correctional labor for up to two months with deduction of twenty percent of earnings, or administrative arrest for up to fifteen days. The degree of responsibility of the “runner” will be determined by the court.
