Operational officers of the Chop Border Guard Detachment detained a resident of Zakarpattia who organized an illegal channel for transporting men of conscription age across the state border.

Measures to document and eliminate the illegal border crossing channel were carried out jointly by border guards, migration police officers, and investigators of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Zakarpattia Oblast, under the procedural guidance of the Veliky Berezny Police Department of the Uzhhorod District Prosecutor's Office.

Law enforcement officers apprehended the suspect during the direct transfer of the Ukrainian citizen to Slovakia. The organizer ensured the individual's delivery to a border settlement, from where he was to proceed on foot towards the state border. For this service, he received $3,000 US dollars from the "client."

During the apprehension, the smuggler fled from law enforcement officers and hid in a forest in the area of the Domashyn settlement in Uzhhorod District. It was only the next morning that he was located and captured.

Urgent investigative actions are currently being carried out.
