An attempt to illegally smuggle in perfumes, smartphones, branded clothing and footwear was detected by border guards of the Chernivtsi BG Detachment in cooperation with Customs officers.

The goods worth about UAH 1.6 million were revealed at Diakivtsi BCP during a thorough inspection of a vehicle driven by a Ukrainian citizen who was returning from Romania. During the interview with the male, law enforcement officers found out that he was traveling abroad supposedly to receive humanitarian aid for the civilian population of Ukraine.

The goods, which were illegally imported to Ukraine, were confiscated by representatives of the Customs Service.
