In Verkhovyna district of Ivano-Frankivsk region, border guards detained a citizen of Ukraine who organized the transporting of men liable for military service to Romania.

The operation was conducted by operatives of Chernivtsi Border Guard Detachment in cooperation with border patrols of the Seliatyn and C-type border guard units, under the procedural supervision of the Verkhovyna Department of Kosiv District Prosecutor’s Office.

In the framework of the criminal proceedings, operatives of Chernivtsi border guard detachment discovered that a resident of Putyla of Chernivtsi region, organized the illegal transfer of two residents of Odesa region of conscription age to Romania for a reward of EUR 4,000. A Volkswagen minibus that was used to transport the offenders to the border was also seized.

A notice of suspicion of committing a crime is being prepared to the person involved in the criminal proceedings.
