On September 5th, first-year cadets of the 2020 enrollment, who successfully passed the entrance exams and enrolled in the Higher Educational establishment of the State Border Guard Service, swore allegiance to the Ukrainian people and became full members of the cadet family of the Bohdan Khmelnytskyi National Academy of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

Together with the Head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine Major General Serhii Deineko, people's deputies of Ukraine took part in the events, including Pavlo Sushko, who is also a graduate of the National Academy, the city and regional authorities.

This year, in the National academy the military oath-taking is held in compliance with all requirements for counteracting the spread of COVID-19.

Addressing the cadets present, the Head of the State Border Guard Service Serhii Deiyneko said: “The main feature of statehood is undoubtedly the state border of Ukraine, and the task of border guards is their courageous and reliable protection. I define the main task for you today - hardening and training of officers qualities.”

The head of the State Border Guard Service claimed that the agency is following the path of real changes for the benefit of the Ukrainian people, and the cadets must become honest and principled in the future.

“Remember! A border guard is the face of the state, the trust and respect of society. I am sure that you will justify the trust placed in you,” Serhii Deineko stressed. The head of the agency also called all those present to honor the bright memory of all those who gave their lives for the independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

People's deputy Pavlo Sushko, who made a speech during the celebrations from the parliamentary corps, noted that border guards are always the prestige and security of the country. “I hope you will study honestly to become a worthy reinforcement to the State Border Guard Service. I believe that for you the border guard service is a conscious and responsible life choice. Show all your best qualities, earn your trust, follow the officer's code of honor from the first days in the academy. It depends only on you what high-quality specialists you will become and what positions you will be able to take after graduation,” he said.

In total, the family of the National Academy was replenished with 373 cadets, including 52 girls. 70 future border guard officers finished military lyceums, 30 first-year cadets are representatives of military dynasties, the successors of the honorary cause - the defender of the borders of the Motherland.

It should be noted that for some time, on the basis of the field training center for providing the educational process of the academy, first-year cadets underwent initial practical training. Future officers received knowledge on fire, physical, engineering, topographic, combat, humanitarian training.
