Law enforcement officers blocked a channel for transferring women to the Republic of Lithuania in Odesa region.

Operatives of the Odesa Border Guard Detachment jointly with the Migration Police of the Main Department of the National Police in Odesa region under the supervision of the Malynovskyi District Prosecutor’s Office of Odesa exposed and stopped the international human trafficking channel.

The organizer of the criminal business, a 23-year-old native of Kharkiv region, was looking for attractive women in Odesa who were in a difficult financial situation and wanted to make easy money. The offender convinced the girls of the profitability of the work, promising sky-high earnings. For the quality of their work, the recruiter guaranteed them earnings of 500 to 1000 euros per night and polite clients. After receiving a positive decision from the girls, the defendant organized their transfer to the Republic of Lithuania for the purpose of sexual exploitation.

The victims of trafficking were attempted to be taken out of Ukraine by a regular bus. Law enforcement officers detained them on Kyiv Highway and the recruiter at her place of residence.

During an authorized search, the law enforcement officers seized cell phones with correspondence with the victims and other evidence of illegal activity.

The organizer of human trafficking was given a notice of suspicion. The maximum sentence for such crimes is 12 years in prison with or without confiscation of property.
