Zhytomyr hosts training meeting on counteracting unmanned aerial vehicles

In total, more than 100 people, 23 UAVs of various types and 7 means of counteracting UAVs were involved in the training camp.

Staff of the Training Center for the use and operation of unmanned aerial systems of the Main Training Center for personnel of the State Border Guard Service named after Major General Ihor Momot took part in a training meeting on counteracting unmanned aerial vehicles of special units of the fight against terrorism. The meeting of specialists took place on the basis of the Zhytomyr Military Institute named after S.P. Korolev.

In addition to border guards, representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Police, the National Guard, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the State Penitentiary Service of Ukraine and the State Security Department of Ukraine took part in the meeting.

The purpose of the meeting was to gain capabilities to combat sabotage and reconnaissance groups, perform practical tasks in the conditions of the enemy's use of unmanned aerial vehicles and exchange of best practices of various units in the field of unmanned aerial vehicles.

During the practical phase, the participants practiced training exercises according to separately defined scenarios. UAV crews searched, detected and escorted equipment and conditional terrorists, and collected information necessary for the use of the assault group. Electronic warfare units were engaged in the detection and identification of drones, determined their position and carried out electronic warfare against UAVs of both aircraft and multirotor type.

According to the results of the training meeting, the head of the Zhytomyr Military Institute named after S.P. Korolov, Major General Oleksandr Levchenko thanked all the participants for their fruitful cooperation and wished them new achievements in the field of unmanned aerial vehicles.
