Luhansk border guards detained a Russian national heading to Ukraine for further participation in the armed conflict within illegal armed groups.

While performing passport control of the passengers of the scheduled bus “Voronizh-Artemivsk” and further inspection the servicemen found out that one of the foreigners was entering our country to reach Donetsk and join the militants. 

During further filtration measures it was discovered that the 53-year-old Russian national had visited Luhansk on the eve. He had already addressed the military enlistment office of the so-called “LPR” with a request to join the local militants. The detainee also explained that he had been invited to serve in the tank units, but refused the proposal, and later decided torequest to the "DPR" military enlistment office to conclude the contract.

Currently an investigation is being conducted.
