During this week, the activities of the European Twinning Project continued. In the Administration of the SBGS, European experts, headed by project manager Thomas Osterroth, conducted a series of consultations with representatives of key stakeholders in the field of Integrated Border Management (Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Interior, National Police, State Security Service, State Fiscal Service). They also met with officials of the EU Delegation to Ukraine and the European Missions EUAM and EUBAM.

During the meetings, the creation of a strategic Multi-Agency Consultative Working Group was discussed. The purpose of this Group is to further the implementation of the IBM Strategy and Action Plan, as well as to enhance coordination between the agencies active in the field of Integrated Border Management.

The consultations were very open and constructive and allowed to find several possible ways that might optimize the existing processes in decision-making on Integrated Border Management in Ukraine and increase their efficiency.

In the future it is planned to draft proposals for specific measures to improve the process of strategic decision making in the field of IBM, to agree them with all involved authorities and prepare the drafts of the necessary regulations.
