Recently, the II International Police Horting Tournament was held in Berdiansk among representatives of law enforcement agencies of our state.

According to the results of the competition, the first place in the section “police self-defence” in the weight category “82+” won the representative of the Southern Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, candidate for Master of Sports in combat SAMBO and JUDO, world champion in police horting of previous years - Major Volodymyr HONTAR.

Police horting is a new professional and applied sport, which provides a system of readiness formation for action in extreme conditions of law enforcement officers.

As a sport, police horting is a system of martial arts such as self-defence techniques, police self-defence, demonstrations without weapons, demonstrations with weapons and police wrestling.

In general, horting is a modern Ukrainian martial art created in Ukraine. According to its founders, the name comes from the name of the island of Khortytsia, where Zaporizhzhia Sich was located.

On August 21, 2009, horting was officially recognized as a sport.

It remains to congratulate the border guard on his victory and wish him new achievements in his favourite sport.
