The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom to Ukraine Melinda Simmons and the Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine to the Autonomous Republic of Crimea Anton Korynevych paid a working visit to the administrative border with the temporarily occupied Crimea.

Accompanied by the head of Kherson Border Guard Detachment, Colonel Yuri Chernov, Ms. Melinda Simmons and Anton Korynevych visited Kalanchak and Chaplynka entry-exit check points. The guests got acquainted with the procedure of carrying out entry-exit operations across the administrative border, the infrastructure of the entry-exit check points (EECP) and the conditions of border guards' service.

“Personnel works very professionally at the EECP at the border with Crimea, but there is an understanding that there should not be these EECP,” said Ms. Melinda Simmons during the visit. She expressed hope that Ukraine would regain its territories in the near future and assured that the United Kingdom would help Ukraine.
